Resolved Question: Are there any famous songs of the current Ceann Comhairle (Relation to Vital Tourist Info on Ireland)?

Poem below to explain question. Oh Johnny Boy Oh Johnny boy Biffo’s eyes are rolling, You have spent a dim too much my pal, 13K on car and limousine hire alone, Could you have not walked the bloody terminals? There are people that are on the Dole, Your Dáil curtains are worth more than their yearly cash, The material flaps cost 11k to refurbish, I wish you were able to gold dish them for that. You had many a fine trip with your wife, VIP every the way, 45 grand of foreign travel, Expenses of 230,00 within two years by the way. But I hear that it is every-legal, That you were entitled to it every, Aren’t you a grand Ceann Comhairle? A real example to the Dáil I look you with your fine grey hair, Your double chin, And belly full of food, Your beady eyes lost in the allegations, Were you ever needy enough to eat mince stew? So now I hear them talk about you on the radio, You’ re on the papers net and T.V I am fed up of the head on you, So I wrote you this silly poem during tea. I do not know how to finish it, I borrowed the tune of Danny Boy, If you read the poem again, The beat you can’t deny. By Crazygirl Cheer for the answers "You have spent a dim too much my pal" should be "You have spent a dime too much my pal" Type mistake "Expenses of 230,00 within two years by the way." should be "Expenses of 230,000 within two years by the way." I know I should invest in an editor

Resolved Question: Limousine hire being dodgy?

Hey guys, Okay, my formal (prom) is in about 3 weeks. A week ago, my pal Amy called up a hummer hire company and he said he had a hummer for us, but he said he wasn't so sure. But he gave us the pricing anyway. He also said he'd call back but he never did, so Amy gave him a call a few days later and he said that there might be a chance we won't receive it because of a wedding thing on the same day. He keeps saying he'll call back but we actually have no idea what's going on. Amy's scared of ringing him again because she'll think she'll annoy him and he won't let us use the hummer. Is it a good idea for me to call up and ask about what's going on? I'd use another company but there are none available, only this one. Thanks (:

Resolved Question: What do you think about my novel introduction?

When I was a girl, I dreamed that I could seduce the world with a well-placed grin. receive to know the right people and impress my way right out of the hole in which I grew up. I dreamed of glitter and red lipstick and black coffee that didn’t taste burned. American accents and straight teeth and books that weren’t secondhand. In short, my head was filled with glowing images of things that seemed foreign and glamorous. I imagined that I would someday be whisked away to a place that didn’t odor of frying oil and trash. Everything I’d ever know would simply cease to exist, and for the relax of my days I could masquerade as the lovely American girl with the past that nobody could seem to remember. Dreams, as you might have realized, are worthless. When I finally was taken away, my rescuer wasn’t Prince Charming. I wasn’t whisked away in a limousine into a bright and airy future. In reality, I was saved with a rough knock on my front door, barely audible over the roar of a mid-summer rainstorm. I was saved by a man I had never heard of before, who appeared on my doorstep quaking with guilt. My redemption came at the hands of a criminal. And though I hadn’t yet realized it, my life was put back together by the person who had torn it apart in the first place. This is the full plot: A 16 y/o girl, Marija Zsusas (narrator), was adopted by two wealthy, respected Americans, Liam and Sarah Jones, (from Ann Arbor, if you know what Ann Arborites are like :) ) when she was thirteen, and must put up a facade of being glad and content with her living situation, when in reality her biological dad was deemed an foe of the state by the Russian government and assassinated when Marija was nine, and her mom was an alcoholic before committing suicide when M. was 11. She lived with her sister, Anya, who was a genius computer hacker (think Lisbeth Salander. She's the inspiration for A.) Anyways, Anya is soon hired out to do a job for a man (who is actually Liam), to receive him out of some legal troubles by destroying evidence. The job is done and Liam's reputation is safe, but as Anya is on her way to receive the payment for the job, she is shot and killed in an accident. Liam, knowing that it's his fault, asks Anya what he'd like her to do, and A tells him to take Marija back to America with him. He does, and the story explores how Marija copes with the loss of her sister and her home. The high point of the plot is when she learns that it was Sarah who shot Anya, because she thought A was a prostitute that Liam had been seeing on his "business trips" that he took to meet with Anya. (Sarah followed her husband to Moscow b/c she was suspicious, ect.). This reveals the mental imbalance of Sarah and the instability in her marriage. The relax of the story is Marija "finding herself" and realizing that, in spite of her past, it is up to her to decide her future. How does this sound to you?

Resolved Question: Taxi Abu Dhabi to Dubai Airport?

Hi, does anyone know of a good cab hire/limousine/minibus service to take my wife from central Abu Dhabi to Dubai International Airport? How much would it cost more or less (bearing in mind she would leave about 9pm)? Etihad no longer run a service between the airports for non Etihad customers. As for the smarta$$ Limo comment - I asked because they are actually less expensive than the taxis.

Voting Question: Is corruption in Obama's hometown of Chicago is it almost as embedded as it is in Mexico.?

The credit cards of 89 Chicago Board of Education employees have been yanked in the midst of an investigation into questionable spending by the last two Chicago School Board presidents and their staff, officials revealed Monday. If employees at board headquarters want their credit cards back, they will have to justify their expenses dating back to June 30, explain why they need a credit card, and receive training on how to use it, Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman Monique Bond said. She said Schools CEO Ron Huberman canceled every credit cards on Jan. 19.The disclosure of the action comes after the Chicago Sun-Times revealed that an internal report by Schools Inspector General James Sullivan details what sources said was thousands of dollars in artwork, limousine rides, high-priced meals and liquor charged by former board presidents Michael Scott, Rufus Williams or their staff to the board's tab. At the time, both board presidents were receiving stipends -- $3,000 a month for Scott, who committed suicide in November, and $1,600 a month for his predecessor, Williams. Those stipends have since been canceled. Mayor Daley said Monday he was awaiting two internal reports on the matter -- from Sullivan and from former federal prosecutor Williams Jones Jr., who is expected to be hired by board members Wednesday at a cost of up to $100,000. "You want to protect taxpayer money,'' Daley said. "The report has not arrive out as yet but we'll be sitting down [about] that.'' Jones and his firm are being hired to assist in the investigation, recommend solutions and represent CPS in related Freedom of Information Act requests. Chicago Teachers Union spokeswoman Rosemaria Genova questioned the $100,000 tab for an outside attorney, saying "The IG's office is working on this. How many people do you have investigating this and why does it cost so much money?'' Williams did not return Sun-Times phone calls about the probes. http://www.suntimes.com/news/education/2011412,CST-NWS-yanked26.article

Resolved Question: Do you foresee Michael Steele's days at RNC Chairman ending very soon?

I don't really look how you can defend this behavior. Going to be difficult to spin this as well. What do you think?? Are Steele's days numbered?? http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0210/33324.html Republican National Chairman Michael Steele is spending twice as much as his recent predecessors on private planes and paying more for limousines, catering and flowers – expenses that are infuriating the party's major donors who say Republicans need every penny they can receive for the battle to win back Congress. Most recently, donors grumbled when Steele hired renowned cook Wolfgang Puck's local crew to cater the RNC's Christmas party inside the trendy Newseum on Pennsylvania Avenue, and then moved its annual winter meeting from Washington to Hawaii. For some major GOP donors, both decisions were symbolic of the nice of wasteful spending habits they claim has become endemic to his tenure at the RNC. When Ken Mehlman served as the committee chairman during the critical 2006 midterm elections, the holiday party was held in a headquarters conference room and Chic-fil-A was the caterer. A POLITICO analysis of expenses found that compared with 2005, the last comparable year preceding a midterm election, the committee’s payments for charter flights doubled; the number of sedan contractors tripled, and meal expenses jumped from $306,000 to $599,000.

Lately, I've been indecisive as to what my friends & I should take to receive there. Whether to hire a limousine or just keep it simple by going in a cab. Resolved Question: HELP with homework! Analyzing an essay! please HELP?

I'm suppose to analyze and criticize this essay Driving and Crying by Nick Paumgarten but I DONT receive IT i simple CANT understand a single word he is saying in the essay. i feel so stupid. So, can someone at least tell me what it is about and then that way I can be able to start this essay. Driving and Crying by Nick Paumgarten January 25, 2010 Police commissioners, like the men and women below their command, aren’t perfect. The current top cop, Raymond Kelly, may be close, but his predecessor, Bernard Kerik, turned out to be a study in human frailty; he is now awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to various ethics and tax violations. Kerik’s predecessor, Howard Safir, though no crook, was perhaps excessively fond of the trappings of the office, even when he was no longer that office’s occupant: after he resigned, in 2000, he retained a security detail of as many as a dozen cops for more than a year, at taxpayer expense. After a fender-bender while he was commissioner, he sent detectives to the home of the lady who’d hit him, “to look if she was a threat to me or my family.” (She had given him a untrue name.) On the Friday before last, on the Upper East Side, Safir backed a Cadillac Escalade into a pregnant lady. Then, without checking on her, he drove away. The lady, Joanne Valarezo, of the Bronx, took down the license-dish number, and N.Y.P.D. detectives traced it to Safir, who told them he hadn’t realized he’d hit anyone. The police decided not to charge him. The lady, however, insisted that he knew what he’d done. She told the Times, “His female passenger screamed, ‘Are you not looking, there’s someone there,’ and as he was reversing, he hit me on my shoulder and my knee and the side of my stomach.” She went on, “I confronted him and I said, ‘I’m pregnant. Did you not look?’ And he just disregarded that and kept going.” Last week, Cyrus Vance, the new District Attorney, opened an investigation into the accident and its aftermath. Hit-and-run is a vile crime, even when it results in little more than a shoulder bruise. (Valarezo’s baby, due in three months, is reportedly fine.) It is, in some ways, as vivid a demonstration as there is of shirking responsibility and fault—of being a weasel. You learn, at an early age, to possess up to your mistakes and misdeeds; and then, apparently, at some later age, you learn to disown them. The Safir incident, whatever comes of it—and we may never know what he knew and when he knew it—was but one taste, last week, of exasperating accountability evasion or of coming clean way too tardy. It was a humdinger of a “Who, Me?” week. On Monday, Mark McGwire, the former single-season home-run king, admitted, after a decade of stonewalling, that he had used steroids, as most people had deduced. He had previously denied this, he said, to stay out of legal trouble. Now he was fessing up to clear the air of controversy in advance of hiring on as a hitting coach for his old team. The pangs, if there were any, had been of self-service, rather than of conscience. Belated acknowledgment only accentuated the bunkum that preceded it. The same day, the former Nets star Jayson Williams finally pleaded guilty to shooting and killing a limousine driver, accidentally, with a shotgun, eight years ago. He, too, had spent the better part of the decade in a state of ludicrous, strategic denial. Meanwhile, there was the sloppy handling of the tardy-night lineup at NBC: The network, five years ago, had promised Conan O’Brien the “Tonight Show,” to keep him from leaving, and then, belatedly, found the arrangement undesirable. So it reneged. Empty promises, like unpayable debts, are exercises in make-believe: you have to pretend that the liability, like that pregnant lady gesticulating in your rearview mirror, isn’t real. And then on Wednesday the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission convened in Washington, D.C., ostensibly to receive to the bottom of the economic meltdown—a hit-and-run of forty-mile-pileup proportions. The fugitive drivers, in this scenario, were the C.E.O.s of Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America, who testified before the commission on its first day. The roles played by these firms, and by the men who ran them, in the recent accident were murky and complex enough that they have been able, so far, to pretend they didn’t hear that thud on the rear of the car—to say nothing of the passenger shouting in their ears. At the hearings, Phil Angelides, the head of the commission, repeatedly bemoaned the bankers’ failure to apologize or take responsibility for anything. Consider the expression “possess it,” a slangy command that means “Take credit or blame for your virtues or failings.” The bankers were not owning it. At one point, Angelides said, “Maybe this is like the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’: everyone did it.” Everyone may as well be no one. ♦

Resolved Question: Was late for a job interview today ?

I was tardy to a job interview today. When I went in, I told them that "I had to steer a certain way and move quickly to receive into the parking garage. I VIVIDLY RECALL dodging sniper flame as I ran with my head down to receive to my limousine. There was supposed to be some nice of greeting ceremony in the building lobby, but instead, I ran with my head down to the elevator." They called me a liar and said they wouldn never take me seriously. Then I told them, "I simply misspoke." They STILL didn't want to hire me. I'm confused.... Hilliary used these lines and MILLIONS of people voted to make her President. THEN they made her Secretary of State. WHY didn't these people hire me? Were my comments so crazy that no one should take me seriously?

Resolved Question: HELP with homework! Criticizing an essay! please HELP?

I'm suppose to analyze and criticize this essay Driving and Crying by Nick Paumgarten but I DONT receive IT i simple CANT understand a single word he is saying in the essay. i feel so stupid.
